Six Pacific-based players have been selected for next month’s All-Army basketball tryout camps, the men’s at Fort Myer, Va., and the women’s at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pa.

Players selected were Aquanita Burras and Carolyn Conkleton of Yongsan Garrison, south Korea; Tanisha Cook and Cornelius Bardney of Camp Humphreys, South Korea; Shamyra Daigle of Camp Red Cloud, South Korea; and Rachel Yates of Okinawa’s Torii Station.

Tony Reed and Aaron Bryant of Yongsan were named All-Army women’s team coaches.

The tryout camps run from July 21 to Aug. 10. Players named to the All-Army team then compete in the All-Armed Forces tournaments slated for Aug. 15-23 at Fort Myer.

If selected to the All-Armed Forces teams, players then move onto a special training camp from Aug. 24 to Sept. 7 at Fort Indiantown Gap and Camp Humphreys in preparation for the International Military Sports Council (CISM) tournaments Sept. 8-18 in Seoul.

Air Force’s men and Navy’s women will defend their respective All-Armed Forces tournament team titles, won last May at Millington, Tenn.
