All-Europe junior pivot Jasmine Mailoto posted double-doubles Friday and Saturday as unbeaten Aviano ran away from host Sigonella in girls basketball, 44-24 and 51-21.

Mailoto’s Saturday outing, 18 points and 11 rebounds, earned her game honors in both categories. Friday, she struck for 12 points, second to teammate Kyrena Smith’s 16, and a game-high 10 rebounds.

The victories left the Lady Saints alone atop the Region IV standings with a 6-0 overall and regional record. They’ll visit powerful Milan (5-1 going into the weekend schedule) this weekend, and close out the regular season by entertaining winless Naples and then playing at Vicenza.

Sigonella fell to 2-6 overall.

In other girls games of note:

Vicenza 55, Naples 37: Saturday at Naples, Lali Baratashvili scored 21 points and made nine steals to help the Lady Cougars complete a sweep and remain very much in the Region IV race.

Baratashvili scored 10 points and stole the ball seven times in Friday’s 53-32 victory at Naples. The sweep left Vicenza, the only school to defeat Milan this season, with a 6-2 record.

According to Naples coach Bret Shepherd, Naples grabbed 50 total rebounds Friday, but was unable to handle Vicenza’s speed in transition. Saturday, he wrote in an e-mail, Vicenza’s full-court press forced 16 turnovers from the 0-6 Lady Wildcats.

Jessica Edmondson led Naples in scoring in both games with 11 Friday and nine Saturday. For Vicenza, Sella Pauling took game-scoring honors Friday with 12 points.

Kaiserslautern 38, Mannheim 22: Friday at Kaiserslautern, All-Europe senior Cariema Wood helped the Lady Raiders stay unbeaten with a triple-double: a game-high 15 points, 14 steals and 10 rebounds as K-town advanced to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in Region II.

Medina Gregory backed Wood’s outburst with seven points, five steals and four rebounds. The Lady Raiders also benefited from four points and eight rebounds by Alana Dickerson.

Wiesbaden 47, Ramstein 30: Friday at Wiesbaden, the defending European Division I champions improved to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in regional play behind a game-high 12 points from senior guard Kelley Colbert and 11 points and a game-high 13 rebounds by senior All-European LeAmber Thomas.

Thomas’ sister, fellow All-European LeAndra Thomas, scored eight points and made four steals for Wiesbaden, which next is ticketed for non-regional games at fellow D-I Vilseck on Friday and Saturday.

Ramstein (1-6, 1-3 in Region II), which got 10 points from MacKenzie Crews and eight rebounds and six points from Sarah Szybist, is scheduled for games at Mannheim on Thursday and at Bitburg on Friday.

Patch 45, Hohenfels 15: Saturday at Stuttgart, All-Europe junior Janelle Loney wrapped up her 28-point weekend with a game-high 13-point outing as the Lady Panthers (7-1 overall, 6-0 in Region IIL) completed a sweep of Hohenfels.

Loney scored 15 in Friday’s 42-10 victory over the Lady Tigers.

Bianca Lopez, who scored six points and made six steals Friday, added 10 points and six steals Saturday for the Lady Panthers, who next will play Friday night at home against Ansbach, then travel to Ansbach on Saturday.

Kiana Glenn scored a team-high seven points Saturday for Hohenfels (1-7, 0-5). The Lady Tigers are to entertain Black Forest Academy on Friday and Saturday.

SHAPE 29, AFNORTH 22: Saturday at Mons, Belgium, Gina Rhett scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Lady Spartans (4-5, 2-2) to a Region I weekend split.

Rhett scored 11 points Friday night at AFNORTH, but the Lady Lions (5-3, 2-3) prevailed in that one 38-27 behind 13 points from Brenda Broadwater and 10 points and 12 blocked shots by Sarah Sawyer.
