February’s hard-fought DODEA-Europe Division I girls basketball championship game has spilled over into the postseason awards scene as participants in that overtime classic claimed seven of the 20 spots on the 2015-16 All-Europe squads.

The rosters, announced this week by DODEA-Europe Athletic Director Karen Seadore, include four members of the champion Ramstein Royals and three representatives from the runner-up Vicenza Cougars.

Seniors Desiree Palacios and Lindsey Breton and junior Ashley Mateo made the first team for Ramstein, while junior Amethyst Rorie made the second team. Senior Emma Knapp and freshman Jordan Wakefield were named to the first team for the Cougars, while junior Adrianna Lovelace cracked the second team for Vicenza.

The Bitburg Barons matched Vicenza’s three-player haul despite taking a loss in the Division II European title game, landing juniors Alexa Landenberger and Elise Rasmussen on the first team and senior Victoria Porras on the second team. Black Forest Academy, the team that upset the Barons for the championship, saw first-teamer Cailynn Campbell and second-teamer Naomi Ruegg recognized.

Junior frontcourt stars Khiya Coats of Ansbach and Abby Zipperer of Stuttgart complete the 10-player first team.

Stuttgart and Sigonella joined Ramstein, Vicenza, Bitburg and BFA with multiple All-Europe selections.
