Ramstein’s Jason Perry missed the course record by a stroke Thursday, firing a 66 on his way to the USAFE men’s golf championship at the Alpine Golf Course on Aviano Air Base, Italy, according to USAFE sports director Tom Burkett.

Perry, a 1-handicapper, had a 54-hole total of 3-under-par 207 over the 5,659-yard, par-70 layout. Perry finished 15 strokes ahead of his nearest competitor, Dave Henderson of Aviano.

Perry opened the tournament Tuesday with a 70, then endured a Wednesday rain-out before firing a 4-under 66 in the first of his two rounds Thursday. He completed the event with a 71 later in the day.

Tammy Cobb of Camp Darby, Italy, took the women’s title with a 243 total.

Ramstein’s Andrew Kuykendall won the men’s open division with a 13-over-223, Perry won the senior division for golfers aged 30-39 years and Henderson captured the masters title for golfers 40 and older with a 222.
