MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan – An up-and-down season swung back upward for Matthew C. Perry football on Saturday. The Samurai hope to finally fashion a two-game winning streak when they hit the road and visit Robert D. Edgren for the first time next Friday.

Zach Brown ran for two touchdowns and R.J. Bolduc and Jason DeGrace each scored rushing touchdowns as the Samurai won for the third time in five games, completing a season-series sweep of Sotoku by routing the Fighting Ducks 43-7 to cap a happy homecoming. The Samurai opened the season Sept. 5 by beating Sotoku 42-0.

Michael Perez sparked the scoring with a 59-yard interception-return touchdown. Brown carried just six times, but for 80 yards, while Bolduc finished with a team-high 87 yards on six tries. DeGrace had 31 yards on three carries.

Garrett Macias was just 1-for-2 passing, but for a 40-yard touchdown strike to Tyson Moore. Macias also rushed four times for 18 yards and Caeleb Ricafrente added 33 yards on six tries. Andrew Jenkins led the Samurai with eight tackles.
