AGANA HEIGHTS, Guam – Father Duenas Memorial thoroughly dominated the first half, but Tyler Kruger and Guam High’s offense showed some signs of life in the second.

Kruger tossed a 4-yard third-quarter scoring pass to Rai Johnson, then ran in a touchdown from 3 yards out in the fourth quarter in a losing cause, as the Friars downed Guam High 35-14 Friday at Panthers Field.

“We started to work more as a team” in the second half, Panthers coach Billy Henry said. “We came together in the second half. They learned that a way to avoid mistakes is to trust each other, and we did.”

The Friars (2-0) scored the first four touchdowns and led 28-0 at halftime before Guam High (0-2) began to find its rhythm. Brock Aguon led Father Duenas with a rushing TD and a kick-return touchdown.

The Panthers next face Southern at 7 p.m. Saturday at George Washington.
