Last week — Played key roles on both offense and defense, powering the Red Devils to a comeback from a 20-13 deficit for their second straight win after opening the season with three straight losses, 20-17 at Robert D. Edgren on Friday.

Kimbrell, a junior transfer from Croatan High School in North Carolina, ran for 254 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries, plus had two interceptions on defense, including a pick-six with just under five minutes left that capped the Red Devils’ rally.

“On the field, Dustin is well respected by his teammates because of his work ethic and, most importantly, his unwavering dedication to team concept,” said Kinnick’s first-year coach Dan Joley, adding that Kimbrell has played through injuries all season long “and never once complained. He is an inspiration to his teammates and coaching staff. It’s an honor to coach such a fine young man.”

Last week — Remained unbeaten and helped her Falcon girls keep an umblemished record as a team through four weeks of the Korean-American Interscholastic Activities Conference regular season.

Henderson, a junior in her second year as a Falcon after running her freshman year at Kubasaki, ran the 3.1-mile Namsan Park course in downtown Seoul in 20 minutes, 53 seconds, five seconds ahead of reigning Far East champion Siarria Ingram. Seoul American beat Korea International and Yongsan International-Seoul and stands at 9-0 on the season.

Henderson, one of the team’s co-captains, is “probably the hardest-working runner we have in the program,” said coach Steve Boyd of the two-time defending Far East Division I team champion Falcons. “She is very competitive, dedicated and sets goals for herself. She is well respected by her peers and teachers. She is an outstanding example of what we look for in a student-athlete.”
