Ty WhiteFootball, Seoul AmericanLast week - Scored the Falcons’ lone touchdown, which proved to be the game-winner as Seoul American swept the DODDS Korea season series from Daegu American for the first time since 2008, edging the Warriors 10-7 Friday at Kelly Field on Camp Walker.White, a senior running back, rushed 13 times for 122 yards, including a 53-yard scoring run in the second quarter which put the game out of reach. White leads DODDS Korea with 733 yards and six touchdowns on 108 carries for the Falcons, 5-2 so far this season, their first winning campaign since capturing the DODDS Korea and Far East Division I titles in 2008.“Ty is a great football player and truly been an asset to our football team,” coach Rydell Wilkins said. “His leadership, character and fortitude have transcended our football team. It is truly an honor to be coaching Ty this year.”

Akemi AllanVolleyball, Nile C. Kinnick, JapanLast week - Earned Most Valuable Player honors in the first DODDS Japan girls volleyball tournament since 2002. The host Red Devils won, going unbeaten over the three-day event, comprised of one night of best-of-three preliminary matches, followed by a two-day modified double-elimination playoff.Allan, a senior team captain, helped pace Kinnick to straight-set wins over Zama American and Robert D. Edgren in preliminaries. In the playoffs, the Red Devils swept E.J. King and Yokota in three sets, then dropped their only set of the tournament in a four-set win over E.J. King in the finals. Kinnick is 21-0 this season and 75-1 in the regular season since the start of the 2009 campaign.“Akemi is the rock of our team,” coach Al Garrido said of the three-year starter. “She takes on so much responsibility and is willing to work as hard or even harder than anyone else so that the team succeeds.”
