Daegu American

Last week: Averaged 18 points and 3.5 assists as the Warriors (18-10) finished second to Morrison Christian Academy in the Far East Class A Tournament — the highest finish for Daegu since the Warriors lost to Morrison in the 1999 tournament.

Feagin, a senior, was selected the tournament’s MVP. He paced the Warriors to a 5-4 finish in the tournament. After going 1-2 in pool-play, the Warriors fought back to the championship, eliminating Robert D. Edgren 62-61 in the knockout-bracket final before fading in the title game 74-64 against Morrison. Feagin’s play was “very important” to the Warriors’ fortunes this season, coach Phillip Loyd said, calling his maturity a “pleasant surprise. He was always working to support hit teammates and get the ball distributed to his teammates.”

Liz GleavesBasketballSeoul American

Last week:Averaged 14.4 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and earned Most Outstanding Player honors as the Falcons won their first Far East Class AA Tournament title in four years. Seoul American reversed the outcome of the 2009 title game, beating Faith Academy 50-47 Saturday at Camp Zama, Japan.

Gleaves, a junior, powered the Falcons to a perfect 7-0 mark in the tournament, giving Seoul American a 28-6 overall record this season. Coach Billy Ratcliff called Gleaves a “game-changer,” one who forced teams to take better care of the ball and alter their shooting schemes on offense and buckle down more on defense. “She can change an entire game and its momentum just like that,” Ratcliff said. “She changes the way teams play basketball.”
