Jacob Clark of Okinawa’s Camp Foster won a freestyle gold medal and a Greco-Roman silver medal in the 185-pound category in last week’s All-Armed Forces wrestling tournament at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

The 26-year-old corporal from St. Paul, Minn., a transportation management specialist who’s been training at the U.S. Olympic training center in Colorado Springs, Colo., has won nine individual gold medals in his five years of All-Armed Forces competition. Clark was chosen as the Marine Corps’ male athlete of the year for 2005.

Clark was one of two non-soldiers to earn gold medals in an All-Armed Forces tournament dominated by the Army for the fifth straight year. Army edged the Marines in the freestyle and Greco-Roman team standings by 6-4 margins. Air Force earned two points each, while Navy was shut out of the scoring.
