Six Pacific-based airmen and three Marines assigned to Okinawa have been selected for their respective All-Service basketball tryout camps starting next week in the States.

They’ll vie for spots on the All-Air Force and All-Marine basketball teams playing in the All-Armed Forces tournament scheduled for Aug. 15-23 at Fort Myer, Va. The All-Armed Forces team will then play in the International Military Sports Council (CISM) tournament Sept. 8-18 in Seoul.

Larry Boyd of Kunsan Air Base, South Korea, was the lone Pacific Air Forces player chosen for the All-Air Force men’s camp at Robins Air Force Base, Ga.

Kunsan’s Muneerah Williams, Antinita Howard and Salonika Quewon-Owens of Osan Air Base, South Korea, Jennifer McFadden of Misawa Air Base, Japan, and Shanel Jimenez of Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, will head to the women’s camp at Luke Air Force Base, Ariz.

The Air Force camps run from Sunday through Aug. 14.

Representing the Marine Corps on Okinawa, Sheneka Lee, Krystal Compton and Celestrea Morrison will attend the All-Marine women’s camp which starts Saturday and runs through Aug. 14 at Henderson Hall, Va.
