For the second time in three weeks, an attempt to put defending champions of the two U.S. military football leagues on the same field was scratched due to transportation problems.

Defending U.S. Forces Japan-American Football League champion Misawa was to travel to Okinawa to play at 6 p.m. Saturday at the home of two-time defending Okinawa Football League champion Kadena Dragons.

As with the originally scheduled July 29 game, return transportation problems threw a monkey wrench into the plan. Marauders coach Dwight Abel said the team was able to secure a return flight only on Tuesday, meaning most of his players would miss two duty days.

Abel said the Marauders would try again in mid-September, after the USFJ-AFL season ends and before the OFL season begins.
