Two Korea soldiers will play on the All-Army men’s basketball team and two soldiers stationed in the Pacific have been selected to attend the All-Army women’s basketball tryout camp in August.

Cory Jenkins and Ronald Bartley of Yongsan Garrison, the Pacific’s lone representatives in the All-Army men’s basketball tryout camp, have been added to the roster of the defending All-Armed Forces tournament champion team.

They will vie for the gold medal in this week’s All-Armed Forces tournament, which begins Monday at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Bartley will try for his second berth on the All-Armed Forces team, which will compete in the International Military Sports Council (CISM) Tournament Aug. 10-20 at Samara, Russia. That will be followed by the Supreme Headquarters, Allied Powers Europe Tournament Nov. 27-Dec. 5 at Brussels, Belgium. Last year, Team USA won a bronze medal at CISM and gold in SHAPE.

Laurie Aaron of Suwon Air Base, South Korea, and Evevetta Crawford of Torii Station, Okinawa, have been selected to attend the All-Army women’s basketball tryout camp scheduled for Aug. 17-Sept. 9 at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pa.

They’ll vie for berths on the All-Army team, which will play in the All-Armed Forces tournament Sept. 10-18 at Ventura County Naval Base, Calif. Army will be trying to unseat defending champion Air Force.

Players selected to the All-Armed Forces team will compete in the Oct. 1-10 International Military Sports Council (CISM) championships, also at Ventura.
