CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — A fundraiser softball tournament hosted by the Far East Officials Association, which umpires most softball games and tournaments on Okinawa, is scheduled Aug. 28-30 at Kadena Air Base’s Four Diamonds complex, FEOA officials said Friday.
All proceeds will go to the family of Erin Harding, a triathloner and military spouse critically injured in a hit-and-run car accident on July 23. She is in transit to Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego. Her husband, Maj. Todd Harding, is being transferred to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, about 10 miles away.
The tournament is open to all company-level teams, regardless of service affiliation, on the island. Each team can pick up two post- or open-level players, FEOA officials said. The three on-island women’s open teams — Yard Busters, Pitchslap and Okinawa Typhoons — can also enter.
