HEIDELBERG, Germany — Josiah Baldwin caught his second touchdown pass of the day with 33 seconds to play Saturday to give Kaiserslautern an 18-16 victory over previously unbeaten Heidelberg (5-1 overall, 4-1 D-I).
Backup quarterback Jordan Dodgen, who passed for 135 yards, threw the 15-yard game winner. Baldwin also scored on a 60-yard pass from starter Thomas Bolton.
K-town coach Tom Burriss said the key to victory was his defense.
“The play of our interior defensive line – Phillip Davidson, Andrew Holgate and Patricio Escobar – made the difference,” Burris said.
Heidelberg was already assured of a berth in the D-I title game.
Ramstein and Heidelberg will tune up for the finale when they play each other for the conference championship Saturday at Heidelberg. K-town closes out its season Saturday at Lakenheath.
