CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — Japan’s Ryukyu Golden Kings and defending Far East Class AA champion Kubasaki High School are slated to host a basketball camp for youth grades 5-8 at Kubasaki from Dec. 26-29, school officials said.

The registration fee is $100, including a family special of $50 for each additional child per family. Registration is scheduled for Saturday at the Camp Foster PX and Dec. 15 at the PXs at Foster, Camp Courtney and Camp Kinser.

Participants will receive 12 total hours of instruction, a camp T-shirt, certificate of participation, daily awards and prizes and free tickets to a Golden Kings game.

Registration fee is due by Dec. 15, camper information form by Dec. 17 and physician’s and liability release forms by Dec. 26. Participants should bring basketball or tennis shoes, gym clothing and a water bottle or sports drink.

The Golden Kings are the Naha-based expansion franchise in the 3-year-old Basketball Japan League, which includes 10 teams. Among its members is former Kadena Falcons base varsity player Bryan Simpson.
