BITBURG, Germany - The defending European D-II champion Bitburg Barons climbed on the backs of running back Kyle Edgar, their defense and their special teams Saturday to improve to 2-0 for 2010 with a 12-0 victory over International School of Brussels.

Edgar, who carried 16 times for 100 yards, gave the Barons all the points they’d need when he hauled in a 20-yard scoring pass from Evan Less in the first period. Less went in from four yards out in the final period for an insurance TD.

Austin Schmidt and Matt Flood each blocked punts for Bitburg’s special teams, according to Bitburg coach Mike Laue, while Tane Oian and Kyle Edgar each recovered fumbles.

Pat Less led the defensive charge with eight tackles.

ISB fell to 0-2 despite an impressive defensive effort of its own.

Christian Gingerella and Stephen Clark each swiped a Bitburg pass, and Vinny Culotta registered 16 tackles.
