AGANA HEIGHTS, Guam – Tegan Brown scored twice and Guam High’s defense held last-place Southern to 79 yards and forced four turnovers in completing an unbeaten Interscholastic Football League season, pounding the Dolphins 49-6 in Friday’s homecoming game at Panthers Field.
“I couldn’t think of a better way to end the season,” said coach Jacob Dowdell, whose Panthers (7-0 overall, 6-0 IFL) now await the outcome of Friday’s fifth- vs. fourth-place playoff game. Guam High hosts that winner Oct. 20.
Brown had 132 yards on three punt returns and a touchdown, and rushed six times for 32 yards and a score. On defense, he had six tackles, a forced fumble and defended two passes.
Daniel Morta had eight tackles and picked off two passes, one that halted a Southern drive and the other he returned 75 yards for a touchdown. Cody Burpo also returned an interception 50 yards for a score.
Amar Bradley ran for a 30-yard touchdown and Austy Hines added a 75-yard scoring run.
