BaseballSaturday

Vilseck 24-27, Ansbach 0-1Noteworthy: Kyle Krajcovic pitched a no-hitter and clubbed a grand slam in the opener, which went just four innings because of the two-hour time limit.

Vilseck coach Kenneth Stark said Krajcovic, who benefited from a nine-run Vilseck first inning and struck out eight, just missed a perfect game when he walked the game’s next-to-the-last batter.

In addition to his slam, Krajcovic doubled and walked on a 2-for-3 outing at the plate in his team’s opening game of the season. Will Pomares and Roberto Miranda each went 2-for-2 with a pair of singles each, and Miranda also walked twice.

Pomares was the winning pitcher in the second game.
