BAUMHOLDER, Germany — Edgar Acosta threw four touchdown passes and ran for a TD Saturday night as the Baumholder Bucs walloped the Sigonella Jaguars 53-2.

Acosta, a senior, had a hand in five consecutive unanswered touchdowns, which erased an early 2-0 Sigonella lead, according to Baumholder assistant Erik Majorwitz.

Acosta’s streak began with a 31-yard pass to Prince Owusu that was followed by the quarterback’s 6-yard TD run. Acosta then threw scoring passes of 40 and 10 yards to All-Europe receiver Fred Styles, who caught five balls for 117 yards, adding a 26-yard scoring strike to T.J. Gray that put the defending European D-III champion Bucs (2-1 overall, 1-0 in D-III) up 34-2 at halftime.

Acosta, who rushed five times for 52 yards and was 8-for-12 passing for 168 yards, gave way to junior backup Cody Clay after intermission. Clay, who finished 7-for-9 for 42 yards with an 18-yard TD pass to Michel Russell, also scored on a 1-yard plunge.

Baumholder’s other touchdown came on a 40-yard interception return by Owusu, who made one of three Buc picks. Clay and Darrius Chisholm had the others.

All-Europe linebacker Bryan Boatner led the Baumholder defense with nine tackles, a sack, a fumble recovery, a quarterback hurry and a pass deflection, Majorwitz reported.

Marco Summerfield rushed eight times for 31 yards to lead Sigonella (1-2, 1-1).
