The Wiesbaden Warriors and Ramstein Royals improved their Division I baseball postseason positioning with doubleheader sweeps Saturday.

Wiesbaden 18/11, Vilseck 6/2: Saturday at Vilseck, the Warriors recorded two blowout victories over the Falcons.

Zach Newton, Bobby Kennedy and Thomas Weiland went for three hits apiece in the opener, overshadowing Vilseck’s Jordan Leighty, who hit a pair of triples and drove in four runs.

Sam Houston drove in a pair of runs in the late game as Wiesbaden emphatically completed the sweep.

The Warriors are on a five-game winning streak including a sweep of SHAPE on April 28. They’ll host Vicenza on May 19 after an standing idle next weekend.

Ramstein 16/15, Spangdahlem 0/6: Saturday at Ramstein, the defending large-school champs dispatched their Division II opponent.

Kaleb Bellew and Nemo Kindle picked up the respective pitching wins for the Royals. Tieran Shoffner totaled four hits and seven RBI on the day.

Ramstein used double-digit late innings to put away both games, scoring 10 in the fourth inning of the first game and 11 in the fourth inning of the late game.

Stuttgart 5/5, Kaiserslautern 2/10: Friday at Stuttgart, the Panthers and Raiders traded victories in a key Division I matchup.

Gabe Simpson pitched a five-inning, eight-strikeout gem to lead the Panthers to an early win. Jaxon Bartlett produced three hits in the Stuttgart victory.

Kaiserslautern responded late in the nightcap to avoid the sweep. The Raiders scored nine runs in the fourth inning to pull ahead for good.
