Wiesbaden WarriorsHead coach: Steve JewellLast year: 6-2, defeated Ramstein 23-21 in D-I title game.Key games: Sept. 28 vs. Vilseck, Oct. 5 vs. Ramstein.Individual stars such as three-time All-European Daniel Harris Jr. might have left the building, but the defending D-I champs are excelling at the numbers game this time around.“I think the Warriors will be deeper this year than they have been in the past,” head coach Jewell reported in an email. “With Wiesbaden on the move up in terms of school population, we have a slightly deeper talent pool than in the past. With that said the Warriors will be young, with a lot of key positions being filled by sophomores and juniors.”Not that all the upper classmen have gone. Key seniors include tackle Daniel Mattner, center Wyatt Sill, wingback-wide receiver Dennis Ringold and linebackers Jessie Davis and Anthony Brown, and Jewell identified his standout juniors as Dequan Reed, Seth Kraft, Johnathan Skeesick and Jason Closs. As a growing community, Wiesbaden also landed some move-ins of note, among them quarterback Carlos Grunter from North Carolina and potential starters Jeremy Rios and Brent Wisti.
