ANSBACH, Germany – Sarianna Jones scored two times and three teammates found the net as well Wednesday as the Vilseck Falcons girls soccer team downed the host Ansbach Cougars, 5-0.River Shank scored twice for the Vilseck boys as they earned their first victory of the season, with a 3-1 triumph over Ansbach.The Lady Falcons improved to 3-0 in Region III play with their victory and took over first place, a half game ahead of idle Patch (2-0). Vilseck led 2-0 at halftime while improving to 3-1 overall. Katie Cooper, Colleen Kiechler and Stephanie Ellis also scored for the Falcons.Ansbach fell to 1-3 in region play.The Vilseck boys led 1-0 at halftime. Peter Gonzalez also scored for the Falcons, who improved to 1-2 in region play. Goalkeeper Jesse Partee had five saves.L.J. Finely scored for Ansbach, which fell to 0-4. Mikael Vicente and Matthew Phipps combined for nine saves in goal.Vilseck next plays April 29 when it hosts Black Forest Academy. Ansbach returns to action by hosting BFA the next day.
