SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- The defending champion Spangdahlem Sentinels earned their first win of the 2018 DODEA-Europe Division II football season Saturday with a 30-6 rout of the SHAPE Spartans.

Spangdahlem, which entered the game on a two-game season-opening losing streak, built a 16-0 halftime lead on a pair of touchdowns and two-point conversions from running back Deon Montgomery. Touchdown runs by Javian Rouse and DeAndre Gray and successful extra points by Dom Fadden completed the blowout in the second half.

Montgomery finished with 168 yards on 17 rushes. Chartez Wiley and JaMicah Dotson added seven tackles and a sack apiece.

DODEA-Europe’s bye week will keep both teams sidelined next weekend. Spangdahlem visits International School of Brussels on Oct. 12, while SHAPE is idle until an Oct. 20 home game against Vicenza.
