Royals boys, Raiders girls secure season sweeps

The Ramstein boys and Kaiserslautern girls completed season sweeps of their crosstown basketball rivals on Tuesday evening.
Ramstein 65, Kaiserslautern 49: At Ramstein, the defending Division I dynasty outscored the visiting Raiders by double digits in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
The unbeaten Royals add the victory to the 60-41 defeat of Kaiserslautern they recorded Dec. 7 at the Raiders’ home gym.
Ramstein built a five-point lead through one quarter, maintained that lead through halftime and used a 22-10 push over the last eight minutes to clinch the win and the season series.
Naser Eaves and Jason Jones each posted double-doubles to lead the Raiders, Eaves with 19 points and 15 rebounds and Jones with 18 points and 16 boards.
Eric Santiago paced the Raiders with 13 points.
Kaiserslautern 37, Ramstein 33: At Kaiserslautern, the first-place Raiders used a second-half push to preserve their unbeaten divisional record.
Kaiserslautern’s perfect start to its Division I schedule also includes a 44-41 defeat of the Royals on Dec. 7.
The Royals held a slim two-point advantage at intermission before the Raiders caught up and surpassed the visitors in the second half. Kaiserslautern limited Ramstein to just six third-quarter points to start the rally.
Rebecca Moon, Aryhana Johnson and Mikaila Bell each scored six points to lead the Raiders. Shemilia Johnson scored a game-high 10 points for Ramstein.
Ramstein hosts struggling SHAPE for a boys and girls doubleheader this weekend, while Kaiserslautern welcomes Stuttgart.
