ROTA, Spain – The Rota Admirals played their way into the DODDS-Europe Division II football playoffs Saturday with a dominant 42-16 win over the visiting AFNORTH Lions.

Estevan Gallardo threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another two as the Admirals clinched an above-.500 regular-season record. Jake Anderson caught a touchdown and threw for another and Matt Gramke hauled in a touchdown ball among his 106 yards of receiving.

Rota got the job done on defense and special teams as well. Patrick Larobis returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown and added six tackles and an interception. Jonas Camacho led the team with 10 tackles.

AFNORTH kicker Claudius Karich did his best to keep the Admirals at bay, averaging 46 yards per punt and converting a 34-yard field goal.

Rota will take a shot at unbeaten central-region rival Ansbach to complete its regular season next weekend.
