RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany -- If the Ramstein-Wiesbaden monopoly on the Division I title game continues this fall, DODDS-Europe could do a lot worse.

The two teams staged another compelling clash Saturday as the defending champion Ramstein Royals earned a 14-7 win over the Wiesbaden Warriors in a rematch of last year's European title game.

Ramstein scored the game's first two touchdowns and held on for the narrow victory.

Royals junior Brendan Hicks rammed in for a 1-yard rushing touchdown and the only score of the first half. Kyle Glenn capped an 11-play Ramstein drive in the third quarter with an 8-yard run for a 14-0 Royal lead.

Josh Theodore halved the Warrior deficit in the fourth quarter, running 38 yards up the middle to put Wiesbaden on the board. The Warriors then strung together a late advance that might have tied the game or put them ahead, but the Royals recorded a last-second sack that snuffed out the desperate drive.

Hicks carried 28 times for 114 yards. Senior Joseph Barney made 12 tackles to lead the Royal defense.

Keyshaun Green paced Wiesbaden with 90 rushing yards on 22 carries. Dominic Eddings had 11 tackles, while Chris Hobson and Alex English added eight tackles apiece.

The win improves Ramstein to 4-0 in Division I play and secures the No. 1 playoff seed for the defending champions. The Royals will face Vilseck in their regular season finale next weekend.

Wiesbaden remains alive for a playoff berth at 2-2, but they'll need to win against second-place Stuttgart on Friday to avoid a losing divisional record.
