LAKENHEATH, UNITED KINGDOM -- Another weekend of DODDS-Europe Division I football brought another remarkable upset Saturday as the Lakenheath Lancers blanked the second-place Stuttgart Panthers 12-0.

The outcome leaves four teams - Lakenheath, Stuttgart, Vilseck and Wiesbaden - tied at 2-2 in the race for three Division I playoff spots entering the final weekend of the regular season. Unbeaten defending champion Ramstein has clinched the No. 1 spot in the Oct. 31 semifinals.

The Lancers cobbled together five first-half points to eke out a halftime lead. Colten Menges and Peyton Wilson combined on a first-quarter safety and Jake Croft nailed a 23-yard field goal in the second.

Marcus Smith shoved in a 1-yard touchdown run with just over a minute to play in the fourth quarter to produce the final margin. Smith finished with 115 yards.

Hunter Landsberger recovered two fumbles for Lakenheath, while Colten Menges had seven tackles and a sack and Croft and Malik Shoemaker each nabbed two interceptions.

Eli Spencer led the Panthers with seven tackles and two sacks.
