VILSECK, Germany - The Lakenheath Lancers kept their DODEA-Europe Division I playoff hopes alive Saturday by extinguishing those of the Vilseck Falcons.

The visiting Lancers blasted the Falcons 35-3 on Saturday in a battle of winless teams clinging to postseason aspirations in the regular season’s second-to-last weekend.

Lakenheath can clinch the division’s final semifinal spot with a win next weekend against Kaiserslautern. The winner of that game will face Stuttgart in a semifinal the weekend of Oct. 28.

The Lancers scored 16 second-quarter points to crack open a game that was scoreless through one quarter.

Ion Duenas carried a heavy load for the Lancers, rushing 24 times for 188 yards and a score. Da’Shaun Wilkerson delivered 84 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries, while Manny Cordero and Mike Nighbert also added rushing touchdowns.

Terron Sizemore led the Vilseck offense with 68 rushing yards.
