The Kaiserslautern Raiders earned a key DODEA-Europe Division I basketball sweep over the Wiesbaden Warriors on Tuesday evening, picking up a 38-18 girls victory at home and a 59-49 boys win on the road.
The Raider girls were dominant throughout, outscoring their visitors 14-4 in the first quarter and holding them scoreless in the second quarter. Emajanae Hawkins led all scorers with 12, while Le’Jhanique Brown added eight and Desiree Johnson scored six for the Raiders.
The win, closely following a decisive Friday-Saturday sweep of SHAPE, maintains Kaiserslautern’s status as the only team in Division I without a divisional loss.
The Kaiserslautern boys used a similar formula to fuel their own win Tuesday, outscoring the Warriors 21-6 to pull ahead by double digits at halftime. Wiesbaden sliced a 21-point fourth-quarter deficit to seven, but the Raiders made enough clutch free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.
Tre Dotson posted a monster 20-point, 20-rebound double-double to pace the Raiders, while Eric Santiago made eight of 10 free throws in a 15-point effort.
Roberto Eiseman totaled 15 points, six rebounds and five steals to lead the Warriors.
Kaiserslautern is idle this weekend before facing archrival Ramstein on Feb. 5. Wiesbaden travels to Stuttgart for Friday and Saturday sets.
