BRUSSELS, Belgium – The International School of Brussels Raiders rallied from a 14-12 halftime deficit Friday night to down the SHAPE Spartans 32-20 in a Division II-North game.Vinny Culotta led the way for ISB (2-0 overall and in the league). He carried 18 times for 205 yards and three TDs and caught a Marshall Kontos pass for a fourth TD.Kontos finished the contest six-of-10 for 95 yards, and Matias Bifani rushed 26 times for 141 yards and a TD, thanks to the ISB line of Izzet Akosman, Chris Lutsko, Jay Adamitis, Tommy White and Alex Tetzner. According to ISB coach Will Vreugdenhil, the ISB front five “were the biggest factor allowing us to run the ball in any hole.”SHAPE, which fell to 0-3 overall and in the league, scored in the final minute of the second period to take the lead, Vreugdenhil reported in a Friday-night email, but “ISB started the second half with great runs by Culotta and Bifani, and we scored a couple of plays later to give us the lead.”Austen Eperjesi caught two TD passes, and Connor Manning ran in a TD for SHAPE, which has scheduled a home game against a local club team on Oct. 8. The Spartans, who got eight tackles from Isaiah Sterling, are then scheduled to host AFNORTH the following Saturday in the regular-season finale for both of those teams.ISB, which got seven tackles and a forced fumble from Tim Overeem, is next scheduled to host Bitburg on Oct. 8, then play at Baumholder on Oct. 14.

CorrectionAusten Eperjesi was credited with throwing two touchdown passes instead of catching them in an earlier version of this article.
