HEIDELBERG, Germany – Junior guard Rebecca Luna took game-scoring honors with 12 points Saturday as the Heidelberg Lady Lions completed a weekend sweep of the visiting Black Forest Academy Falcons, 41-18.Luna, who handed out four assists in the victory which upped the Lady Lions’ record to 7-1 overall and 6-0 in Region III, tallied a team-high nine points in Friday’s 47-27 triumph.Heidelberg’s lone loss this season was 33-32 nail-biter Dec. 3 at unbeaten Kaiserslautern.Linae Myhand contributed 10 points and seven rebounds to Saturday’s victory; she and Kylee Miller each scored eight points on Friday. Esther Shady led BFA (2-3, 1-3), which was playing for the first time since Dec. 11 on Friday, with 11 points and six blocks. Shady added 10 rebounds, five points and another block to her totals on Saturday.Next up for Heidelberg, riding a seven-game winning streak, are Region III games Friday and Saturday against visiting Bamberg, which comes into town with an 0-5 record. BFA moves on to play at Hohenfels on Friday and Saturday.
