NEWTON AYCLIFFE, England -- The Brussels Brigands continued to dominate the four-team, nine-man DODDS-Europe Independent League on Saturday with a 63-24 win over second-place Woodham Academy.
Brussels rushed out to a 21-0 first-quarter lead and never looked back. Hayden Pfefferkorn rushed for four touchdowns and threw for two more in the rout.
Two games - Oct. 18 against Menwith Hill and Oct. 26 against Lakenheath's junior varsity squad - separate the Brigands from an undefeated season and the league's inaugural championship, awarded to the team with the best regular-season record.
