BRISTOL, England - The Bristol Academy Pride battled through a hail storm Saturday to a 39-6 Division I victory over the visiting Kaiserslautern Red Raiders.Quarterback Tom Clancy led the Pride (3-2) with 12-of-17 passing for 180 yards and touchdown tosses of 20 yards to Daniel Vickery, 30 yards to Nick Farrell and 10 yards to Jack Sly, according to coach Ben Herod.Clancy also rushed for 50 yards, and the Pride registered a defensive TD when Dal Sommers picked off a Devin Joseph pass and returned it for a touchdown in the game Bristol led 27-0 at the half.Mistakes hampered K-town (0-5), Herod wrote in an email report of the game. Joseph had several big aerial plays called back for linemen downfield, and several catches by receivers just out of bounds.“(Without those mistakes) they would have had 200 yards-plus passing on us,” he reported.“Montell Kelly, in as a power back, rumbled in for two touchdowns and 80 yards rushing,” reported Herod, who’ll be coaching Team Euripe in January’s All-American games in San Antonio. “Tunde Akindele had another 100-plus yard game on the ground, and Denzel Harmitt picked up over 50 yards on the ground as well.”K-town’s last chance to avoid a winless season is scheduled for Saturday at Ramstein. Bristol is to journey to Wiesbaden the same day hoping to nail down a playoff berth against the defending European D-I champs.
