BITBURG, Germany -- The Bitburg Barons' unstoppable running game claimed another victim Saturday, this time the previously undefeated SHAPE Spartans.

Three different Baron runners found the end zone as the host Barons beat SHAPE 32-7, improved to 3-0 and secured a berth in the DODDS-Europe Division II playoffs.

Curtiss Wilson carried 15 times for 89 yards and two touchdowns. John Blake rushed eight times for 45 yards and two touchdowns. Ernie Carrasco gathered a game-high 176 yards on 18 carries and notched the game's first touchdown on an 11-yard first-quarter run.

That was plenty of points for an equally adept Bitburg defense to protect. Blake led the Barons with 12 tackles and a fumble recovery. Jaylon Gray had 10 tackles and a sack. Jakub Jackowski added nine tackles.

Trey Kirklen carried 28 times for 135 yards and a touchdown for SHAPE; teammate Brandon Benesh led the defense with 12 tackles.

Resurgent Bitburg has yet to be truly challenged this season, recording blowouts of Hohenfels, Baumholder and now SHAPE.

Saturday's margin was as close as anyone's been; SHAPE held Bitburg to a season-low point total, and its seven points represented the best showing to date against the Baron defense.
