ANSBACH, Germany - The Ansbach Cougars baseball team extended its winning streak to six games with a 11-1, 18-2 sweep of the Schweinfurt Razorbacks.

Pitcher Bailey Ward starred in the first game, striking out seven and yielding just two hits in a dominant complete-game win. Ward and teammates Alec Shuers and Nick Duplessie each crossed the plate twice.

Jake Voorhees took over in the second game by achieving one of baseball’s most elusive goals: hitting for the cycle. Voorhees picked up a home run, a triple, a double and a single in his four at-bats, driving in three runs in the process.

Vilseck 9/6, Wiesbaden 2/10: Friday at Vilseck, the Division I opponents exchanged wins and losses in a hard-fought doubleheader.

Pitcher Johnny Bohnemann went the distance for Vilseck in the opener, striking out 12 and allowing two hits and two unearned runs in shutting down the Warriors. Kevin Huestis provided a chunk of the run support with two hits, three RBI and two runs scored.

Wiesbaden hurler Justin Jones took the spotlight in the nightcap, tossing his own complete-game win featuring seven strikeouts and three earned runs. Nick Mills came to his aid with two hits, including a double, and two RBI.

Lakenheath 14/17, Bitburg 0/5: Friday at Bitburg, the Lancers outclassed a struggling Barons team.

Chris Kiefer threw a one-hitter and notched three hits, three runs and four RBI to spearhead Lakenheath’s opening win. Matt Brinker added two hits and three RBI to the cause.

Late-game standouts for Lakenheath included Ben Ciero (3-for-4, three runs, two RBI) and Spenser Brobst (2-3, two runs, RBI). Dom Ferneding and Devan Billups each went 2-for-3 for Bitburg in the nightcap.

SoftballKaiserslautern 21/22, Alconbury 4/4: Friday at Kaiserslautern, the Red Raiders routed the Dragons behind a sustained offensive outburst.

Sisters Tori Liggins and Alexis Liggins hit back-to-back first-inning home runs in the opening game, setting the tone for a lopsided doubleheader. Both Liggins sluggers finished with three RBI and three runs scored.

Saige Isla and Lexus Quesada did the heavy lifting at the plate in the late game with matching 3-for-3 efforts. Isla scored five runs and drove in four; Quesada scored three times and plated five RBI.

Kaiserslautern 22/18, Baumholder 0/5: Saturday at Kaiserslautern, the home team completed a perfect 4-0 weekend with consecutive routs of the Bucs.

Quesada hurled a complete-game no-hitter in the opener and added three hits, three runs and three RBI at the plate.

Other hitting standouts for the Red Raiders included Breanna Goulet (2-2, three RBI, two runs) in the opener and Jamie Phillips (3-5, three runs, five RBI) and Emma Frost (2-2) in the late game.

Lakenheath 12/16, Baumholder 3/11: Friday at Baumholder, the Lancers earned a hard-fought sweep from the host Bucs.

Alli Midthun struck out seven in a complete-game win in the opener. Breonna Ruffin hit a home run as part of a three-run, six-RBI effort in the late game.
