BRUNSSUM, Netherlands -- The Ansbach Cougars are one win away from a second consecutive undefeated season after a 60-14 defeat of host AFNORTH/Brussels on Saturday.

The game was competitive in the opening minutes as the two teams traded first-quarter touchdowns. But a 68-yard touchdown run by Ansbach's Jairiq Leary and injuries to key AFNORTH/Brussels offensive players tilted the game lopsided before halftime. The Cougars led 40-8 by the break and continued the rout in the second half.

Leary had 187 yards and two touchdowns and Tyler Benton added 94 rushing yards and two touchdowns for Ansbach. Yadiel Rodriguez amassed 41 receiving yards, including a pair of touchdown catches.

AFNORTH/Brussels quarterback Tim Wilkinson completed 14 of 22 attempts for 122 yards and a touchdown. Michael DeFazio caught nine balls for 73 yards and a touchdown.

The defending Division II champion Cougars need only a win over winless Baumholder next Saturday to complete another unblemished regular season. AFNORTH/Brussels, combined just before the season, will round out its campaign next weekend at Alconbury.
