RAF MENWITH HILL, England – If it’s Saturday, count on the Rota Admirals to be posting a shutout somewhere.Ramon Quijano ran for three touchdowns Saturday, and the Admirals’ defense posted its fourth nine-man shutout and its fifth overall whitewashing this season with a courtesy-rule 46-0 victory over the Menwith Hill Mustangs.Quijano, who also hauled in a two-point conversion pass from Nick Holland, scored on runs of 60,7 and 5 yards, and his teammate Terrence Paris scored on bursts covering 7 and 11 yards in a game which Menwith Hill chose to end at halftime.K.C. Mason and freshman Herold Lucas also got into the end zone for Rota (5-0 overall and 4-0 in nine-man Division II play). Mason scored on a 22-yard TD run set up by a Holland interception, and Lucas went in from 2 yards out just before halftime.Mason also picked off a Menwith Hill pass. According to Menwhith Hill coach Pete Resnick, it set up Quijano’s 5-yard TD run.Rota is return home for a D-III showdown against unbeaten Bamberg on Saturday night. The winner earns the D-III regular-season crown, but both teams are guaranteed home field for the D-III semifinals Oct. 22.Menwith Hill (3-2 overall and 2-2 in the league) closes its regular season at Alconbury (2-3 overall, 2-2 in D-III). That game’s winner will travel to the home field of the Bamberg-Rota loser for the semis; the Alconbury-Menwith Hill loser is ticketed to play at the Rota-Bamberg winner’s field.
