ALCONBURY, England – The host Alconbury Dragons kept their hat in the crowded Division II North region playoff ring Saturday with a 22-20 win over Rota. Alconbury entered the day tied with International School of Brussels for the region’s fourth and final playoff spot, and will head into next weekend the same way. The 2-2 teams play Saturday at Brussels to settle the issue. The Dragons scored 16 third-quarter points to negate the Admirals’ 13-6 halftime lead. Solomon Dana caught a pair of touchdowns in the comeback effort. Quarterback Kevin Beasley ran for 143 yards and a touchdown for Alconbury, whle Dana totaled 121 yards receiving. James Woods added 29 yards on the ground. Pavel Kasmersian hauled in 47 receiving yards at tight end and spearheaded the Dragon defense with 9 tackles, an interception and a sack. Kindred Bartalong added 8 tackles. The Dragons found their way into the Admiral backfiled for six sacks, including 2 each from Brendan Crowder and Ian Burgess and another by Chris Dufresne.
