It might be only the second week of the DODEA European football season, but Wiesbaden already has a stranglehold on Division I’s South conference.

The Warriors went to Vilseck and thumped the Falcons 42-3 on Saturday to improve to 2-0 early in the season. It marked the second consecutive week Wiesbaden mercy ruled its opponent, as the game was called in the third quarter.

The Wiesbaden defense clamped down on the Falcons (1-1). Wyatt Smith was a terror against his former team after transferring from Vilseck to Wiesbaden. The senior produced three sacks and five tackles for a loss.

Not to be overlooked, Michael Tate recorded two sacks and three tackles for a loss.

Alexander Varela forced a fumble that Michael Dozier recovered, Dwain Hinman and Valentino Moss each had 0.5 sacks, McKinley Karwowska chipped in with a tackle for a loss.

Freshman quarterback Campton Mushkat continued to impress with a five-touchdown performance through the air. Daniel Carter added another throwing score himself.

Both of Smith receptions went for touchdowns, and the same was true with Dozier and Liam Ortiz, both of whom totaled 80 yards receiving.

Sedric McGibboney put Vilseck on the board with a 28-yard field goal before the mercy rule came into effect.

Next up for the Warriors is Naples on Sept. 19. The Falcons, meanwhile, host Vicenza the same day.

Ramstein 42, Lakenheath 0: The Royals ran roughshod over the Lancers during a home win on Friday evening.

Ramstein (2-0) scored 21 points in both the first and second quarters to enact the mercy rule at halftime.

Half of quarterback Xavier Schumacher’s passes went for touchdowns. The junior connected with Rhett Dalling and Conner Scott for scores of 11 and 26 yards in the first quarter, and added an 8-yarder to Lincoln Bump to complete the scoring in the second quarter.

Schumacher finished with 80 yards passing — and could have had more, as a couple of drops kept the signal caller from a couple of explosive plays.

Elijah Morris ran in an 18-yard score and Zander Diaz chipped in with a 2-yard TD in the second quarter.

The Royals also picked up a special teams touchdown in the first period. Shyheim Poole blocked a punt, and Jacob Beckenhauer picked it up and ran it to the end zone.

Ramstein’s Jackson Norris intercepted a pass as well.

The Royals have a big test on Sept. 18 when they host rival Stuttgart. Lakenheath (0-2), meanwhile, travels back to the Kaiserslautern Military Community to take on Kaiserslautern on Sept. 19.

Nine-man

Rota 25, International School of Brussels 0: The Admirals combined a balanced offensive effort with a stout defensive performance against Brussels on Saturday to pick up their first win of the season.

Rota junior signal caller Xavier Lozada passed for 84 yards and two touchdowns. Those two scores went to sophomore Lucca Guido, who total 56 receiving yards.

Junior Donnell Evans paced Rota (1-1) on the ground with 115 yards and a TD. Senior Leo McFarland chipped in with a score and 25 yards.

McFarland also picked off two passes defensively.

For the Raiders (0-2), senior Max Ball totaled 160 yards of total offense — 40 rushing and 120 passing. Fellow senior Will Feldmeyer added 105 yards on the ground.

The Admirals host Sigonella in their next game on Sept. 19. ISB, meanwhile, heads to Le Mons, Belgium, to take on SHAPE the same day.

Six-man

Spangdahlem 24, Baumholder 12: Defense powered the Sentinels past the Buccaneers on Friday evening at Spangdahlem High School.

Spangdahlem (2-0) produced a safety and picked off a pass.

The Sentinels got enough done offensively to get the win. Marshall Newton rushed for two touchdowns, while Adler Armstrong connected with Roman Wells for a score.

Solomon Wells chipped in with two PATs to complete the scoring.

Pene Vaisagote Jr. got Baumholder (1-1) on the board in the second quarter with a 5-yard touchdown run. Quarterback Dewayne Washington connected with receiver Chris Bowden on a 38-yard pass in the third quarter to complete the Buccaneers’ scoring.

Jaylon Bilbrew totaled 70 yards on 11 carries to lead the visitors. Washington went 6-of-11 passing for 80, with 51 of those yards going to Bowden.

Washington paced the defense with 13 tackles, including one for a loss. Justin Velez Benitez recorded a sack, while Vaisagote recovered a fumble that was forced by teammate Joseph Velez Martinez.

Spangdahlem travels to Ansbach on Sept. 19, while the Buccaneers head to Brussels on Sept. 18.
