After the success of the inaugural DODEA European girls wrestling championships last year, the competitors are back for more.

Eighty athletes will converge Thursday through Saturday at the Wiesbaden Sports and Fitness Center on Clay Kaserne in Wiesbaden, Germany. They will grapple across 10 weight classes – an increase of two from last year’s tournament.

Because only two 2025 champions – Ramstein’s Lilianna Greene and Kaiserslautern’s Kaelyn Ronnau – return, the European scene will see mostly new winners this year.

Here’s a breakdown of each weight class:

105 pounds

Dominant might be an understatement when it comes to Greene’s performance this season. The senior seems to have a sense of invincibility whenever she hits the mat.

Still, the field isn’t going to anoint the defending champion.

Tasked with trying to pull off the upset are seven other grapplers. They start with Ansbach sophomore Zoe Stubbs and Rota’s Akira Terlaje. Stubbs joined the Cougars this year, while Terlaje took silver at 110 last season.

Baumholder senior Alyssa Meas has Euros experience, while SHAPE junior captain Freja Rasmussen enters Euros with a record of 8-3.

114

This weight class could be one of the more competitive at this year’s Euros.

Hohenfels’ Illeana Rodriguez took third place at 110 last year, and the senior is seeking to take two steps up the ladder after winning the Central sectional at Vilseck.

Rota’s Ariel Macias also looks to improve upon last season’s finish, when she placed sixth at 115. She won the South sectional in Naples on Jan. 31.

Ramstein freshman Alexis Hall hasn’t taken a wrong step yet, going 8-0 and winning the West sectional.

SHAPE’s Dylan Hurd is a force with which to be reckoned as well. The senior pushed Rodriguez to overtime in the Central sectional final, and she sits at 11-3 on the season. Her Spartan teammate Kennady Ruddell (8-4) came in thirrd at sectionals and could make some noise.

120

Rota’s Athena Quiroz has the inside track to get herself atop the podium this year, after finishing third last February.

Stuttgart’s Janelle Tovar has put together a great freshman campaign that has seen her win the Central sectional bracket. The West sectional winner, Ramstein junior Madline Moga, handled her business at Kaiserslautern High School.

Lakenheath senior Jeannette Bryant-Soto is no slouch at 9-2 on the campaign.

Stuttgart’s Coral Cancel and Sigonella’s Victoria Caleja also will push for the podium.

126

Last year, Ramstein junior Alejandra Sanner was one step away from a European crown, only to fall short in the final.

The Royal has the tools to win that final and currently sits at 14-0.

Central sectional-winner Kendall Cancel of Stuttgart is one of Sanner’s biggest competitors. So is Rota’s Rizza Bejar, the South sectional winner.

Baumholder senior Aaliyah Loft has shown promise in her first season with the Buccaneers at 11-4. Naples’ Jaiyah Church also could make a deep run.

132

Two unbeaten wrestlers have their sights set on the top spot.

SHAPE sophomore Sofia Colalongo will try to avoid an ending like she had last year after going unbeaten heading into Euros. The Italian former judo athlete placed sixth when an injury ended her tournament.

Colalongo is 13-0.

Ramstein’s Lucy Cox gave the sport a go for the first time this season, and the sophomore even jumped up a weight class right before sectionals. She ended up winning the West tournament.

Naples’ Illyana Ruano has a South title under her belt, and Ramstein sophomore Lily Farrington has experienced success this campaign at 9-4.

138

A pair of freshman sensations lead the pack in this weight class.

Ramstein’s Shayla Hill defeated sophomore teammate Ava Fontaine (14-4) and Kaiserslautern sophomore Isa Ramirez-Ortiz (13-6) to claim the West sectional crown. Fontaine placed third at 130 during Euros last year.

Stuttgart freshman Lilly Cohen claimed the Central sectional title over SHAPE’s Andrea Kontri (13-3). The Spartan junior qualified for Euros but didn’t make the podium last year. She’ll be looking forward to changing that this week.

Vilseck’s Ayanna Tennial also has European experience, having placed fifth at 130 last year.

Aviano’s Avery Haithcoat took first in the South sectional.

145

In 2025, both Vicenza’s Allie Torgeson and Ramstein’s Lydia Cox finished second at 140 and third at 155, respectively. The duo both hope to stand atop the podium in Wiesbaden on Saturday after winning their respective sectionals.

Cox herself has produced a fine campaign thus far, as she’s unbeaten in 18 matches.

Wiesbaden freshman Elizabeth Wood (12-7) went through some growing pains early as she adjusted to high school wrestling. She hit her stride late in the season and took home the Central sectional crown.

Ramstein junior Kyleigh Duboise (8-3) also brings back Euros experience, having placed third at 140 last February.

Kaelyn Ronnau won the title a year ago.

152

One of Europe’s best wrestlers, Kaelyn Ronnau, seeks the perfect ending to her high school career.

The Kaiserslautern senior has 105 pins over four years, beginning with her freshman and sophomore campaigns in Wyoming. She’s 16-0 this season and boasts a 108-22 record overall.

Ronnau cruised to the 170 European crown in 2025.

Tasked with trying to stop her from a second straight title are Stuttgart senior Natalia Trejosamador and Sigonella’s Terra Love, who like Ronnau has dropped from the heavyweight division.

Ramstein senior Leona Smith (10-2) is a third former Euro qualifier at 170 competing in this bracket.

165

Only four wrestlers are competing in this bracket, and it could be anyone’s guess who of the four comes out on top.

Wiesbaden senior Samia Calloway has taken a step forward this season. She’s 6-3 on the campaign.

Ramstein senior Rhianna Elliot is back for more after a third-place finish at 170 last year. She sits at 5-4 this year and will be joined by junior Royal Devri Deakin.

Rota’s Brylee Reber rounds out the field.

185

The new heavyweight division has a new crop of heavy hitters.

It starts with Ramstein sophomore Aurora Amato, whose 11-0 record has the Royal as the top favorite.

Wiesbaden’s Jyllian Russel joined the wrestling squad for her senior year. She hit the ground running and currently sits at 8-3.

Naples’ Aurey Addo claimed the South sectional over Rota’s Gracey Graham and should place high on the podium.
