Pablo Martinez scored twice Saturday as unbeaten SHAPE collected its second victory of the season, a 3-0 blanking of Bitburg.
The two goals gave Martinez eight on the year.
Emmanuel Vancoppenole scored the other goal for SHAPE (2-0-3), which got assists from Piotr Kwiecein, Evangelous Marakgoudakis and Trent Castro.
The Spartans, among the favorites in Division II, finish their regular season against two D-IV teams. They host Menwith Hill this Saturday and close out the regular season May 16 at Alconbury.
Bitburg, the current European D-II runner-up, fell to 0-4-1.
ISB 6, Alconbury 1: On Saturday at Brussels, Jambaar Stills and Vince Luscomb each scored twice as the International School of Brussels continued its unbeaten season.
Division I ISB (3-0-1) won by a big margin for the third straight game. The Raiders tied SHAPE 3-3 to open the season, then downed D-I Kaiserslautern 9-2 and D-IV Menwith Hill 11-0, both on the road.
Heidelberg 4, Mannheim 0: On Saturday at Heidelberg, the Lions (5-0-0 overall, 3-0-0 in Region III) remained unbeaten, untied and unscored-upon behind a goal and an assist from Blake Langford and two assists from Kevin Beerman.
“Blake Langford, Thomas Hogue and Kyle Ulses were sticking out all over the field,” Heidelberg coach Perry Puppolo said. “They held us together.”
Marvin Sibley, also using the name Marvin Washington this season, added a goal for the Lions to give him eight for the season. and at least one in each game. Hogue and Mario Villegas also scored against Mannheim (2-2-1 overall, 0-2-0 Region III).
Baumholder 6, Kaiserslautern 1: On Saturday at Baumholder, Alassane Doukoure scored four times as the Division III Bucs pummeled their D-I guests.
Vilseck 5, Ansbach 1: Saturday at Vilseck, Hillman Degoh scored twice as the Falcons collected their second victory over Ansbach in 72 hours.
Degoh also scored in Vilseck’s 8-1 victory over Ansbach on Wednesday. Ken Bruce, who posted an assist on Saturday, found the net three times Wednesday and added three assists. Zach Skells, who tallied once on Saturday, scored twice Wednesday.
Aviano 0, Milan 0: On Saturday at Aviano, Milan goalkeeper Gota Semba came on to make eight second-half saves and preserve the scoreless tie, according to Aviano coach Louis Lucidi.
“His level of play was outstanding,” Lucidi said.
The outcome left both teams 0-2-2.
Vicenza 3, AOSR 3: On Saturday at Vicenza, Felipe Diaz scored twice and the Cougars survived a three-goal barrage in the opening minutes of the second half by the American Overseas School of Rome.
With AOSR trailing 1-0 at halftime, David Kunin and Giacomo Castelli put the Falcons up 3-1 with goals by Kunin in the 44th and 46th minutes and by Castelli in the 48th minute, according to Vicenza coach Roland Sturk.
Diaz, however, answered with strikes in the 51st and 72nd minutes, Sturk said.
