CAMP RED CLOUD, South Korea — The best wrestlers from Korea get together Saturday for the 8th U.S. Army freestyle championship at Camp Casey’s Carey Fitness Center, officials announced.

Weigh-ins are from 10-11:30 a.m. A mandatory pre-tournament meeting follows at 12:30 p.m., with competition starting at 1 p.m.

Highlighting the 2nd Infantry Division Warrior Country sports calendar for November are two 8th Army events: boxing Nov. 6-8 and company-level flag football Nov. 12-15.

The boxing, also slated for the Carey Fitness Center, is open to all active-duty soldiers at 8th Army bases throughout the country. Weigh-ins are slated for 10-11:30 a.m., with matches starting at 6 p.m. nightly.

The top teams in the 8th Army’s support group and area command flag football tournaments are eligible for the 8th Army championship at East Camp Casey Field. Preliminary games are slated for Nov. 13-14 from 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., with the championship Nov. 15 at 10 a.m.

Other upcoming Warrior Country events include:

• A post-level preseason basketball tournament at Camp Stanley’s fitness center on Nov. 1-2. Preliminary games run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 1 and 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 2, with the championship scheduled on Day 2 at 5 p.m. For information, phone Scott Meredith at DSN 732-7757.• The division’s company-level flag football championship at Camp Stanton Field Nov. 5-7. Preliminary games are scheduled Nov. 5-6 from 1 p.m. to 6:50 p.m. The semifinals and championship take place Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
