SCOTLAND: This year’s Celtic Connections Celtic music festival in Glasgow, Jan. 13 to 30, offers a special performance on Jan. 24: “Forever Young — a 70th Birthday Tribute to Bob Dylan.”

Will the legendary folk artist show up? Even if he doesn’t, there is still an all-star lineup of 1,500 folk, indie, roots and Americana artists scheduled to perform throughout the festival.

Gospel has a special focus with the broadcasting of the American radio show “Mountain Stage,” featuring legendary Mavis Staples as well as a performance by Tom Jones.

Another part of the festival, Celtronika, features an evening of Celtic and electronic music plus talks and workshops. For full details, see www.celticconnections.com.
