A third-team running back and some clutch passing produced a pair of road victories in high school football on Saturday.
Bamberg 27, Giessen 8
GIESSEN, Germany — Miguel Lozada ran for 205 yards and three touchdowns as the Barons improved to 3-0 in Division III-South.
Two of Lozada’s TDs came in the first half as Bamberg was building a 20-0 lead. Quarterback Jose Urbaez plunged in from one yard out to acount for Bamberg’s other points.
Giessen’s lone score came on a 56-yard TD run by Andre Cooper. Cooper also had 13 tackles for Giessen, which fell to 1-2.
Kaiserslautern 30, Lakenheath 22 (2OT)
RAF LAKENHEATH, Germany — Danny Morris threw overtime touchdown passes to Corey Payton and Zach Cervantes to lead Kaiserlautern to a big road win.
Morris finished the game 10-for-17 for 200 yards and four TDs.
After Lakenheath (2-1, 1-1) answered with an Isaac Kittle touchdown run and a two-point conversion, Morris threw his second TD pass of the afternoon to Payton for the victory.
Lakenheath had one last chance to tie, but the Lancers’ fourth-down pass into the end zone was imcomplete.
For the game, Payton caught four passes for 122 yards.
