Air Force Capt. Lorri Reed, a flight nurse stationed at Yokota Air Base, Japan, won the $5,000 cash prize in the NFL Challenge, a contest sponsored by Stars and Stripes, Miller Lite and Oconus.com.

Reed, who played the game under the name HULAGIRL, won by just eight points.

“My husband and I became interested in the NFL Challenge contest after seeing it advertised in the Stars & Stripes,” said Reed of Mansfield, Ohio. “We thought it would be fun, and it was.”

The contest started at the beginning of the NFL season and each week challenged players to pick the winners of each NFL game. Contestants were asked to assign a point value to each game that indicated their confidence in the selection. The 1,758 contestants for the NFL Challenge included a three-star, a two-star and a one-star general.
