Army football unveiled its uniforms Wednesday for this year’s Army-Navy game — Dec. 13 in Baltimore — that will pay tribute to 250 years of service.
The uniform, unveiled in a nearly three-minute video, features a marble base color for the jersey and pants, representing the marble headstones at Arlington National Cemetery. A thin purple outline around the jersey number honors those who received the Purple Heart. Purple was originally used for the Badge of Military Merit in the Revolutionary War.
The typography will provide a link to the nation’s founding documents.
A sleek silver helmet includes an espontoon emblem running though the center, a nod to the Army’s status as the tip of the spear for the country’s armed forces, as well as the U.S. Army seal on the lids’ sides.

Other details include 1775 on the back of the helmet, recognizing the year the Continental Army was established. A chain emblem on the jersey’s collar logo is a reference to the 75-ton “Great Chain” that stretched across the Hudson River from West Point during the Revolution. The Great Seal of the United States is on the right shoulder, and the U.S. flag is on the left.
The Army in June celebrated the service’s 250th anniversary with a parade in Washington that coincided with President Donald Trump’s birthday.
The Midshipmen have not released their uniforms for the game.
The Navy athletics account pointed out Wednesday in a post on X referencing the game’s tradition of the winning team’s alma mater being played second. Navy beat Army last year, 31-13, in Landover, Md.
Army is currently 5-4, and Navy, at 7-2, currently sits atop the American Conference standings with at least two games to go before facing the Black Knights.
This year’s game will be the 126th version of the classic rivalry.
