My strongest memory was the heat, the smell, the nighttime fears, fighting women and children who were trying to kill us. But mostly, it was coming home. I was more devastated coming home than my time in 'Nam — the outrage we received, the betrayal. Was sad that our loyalty and honor stayed in Vietnam. I was so proud of my uniform and ribbons and coming home.
