Combined Federal Campaign

CFC Guide

Published:

Every October, Stars and Stripes publishes the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Guide — a special supplement that helps military, government and DoD personnel choose the charitable organizations they wish to support in the new fiscal year. The guide contains a plethora of information regarding the CFC including new initiatives, success stories, advice on charitable giving and more.

The CFC Guide is distributed through Stars and Stripes' daily editions overseas as well as throughout the National Capital Region. The CFC Guide is also circulated in base newspapers and at shopping outlets in most major military installations nationwide.

We grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. According to a 2011 U.S. study of wish impact, most health professionals surveyed believe a wish-come-true can have positive impacts on the health of children. With the help of generous donors and more than 25,000 volunteers, Make-A-Wish grants a wish somewhere in the country every 38 minutes.

DAV empowers veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. It is dedicated to a single purpose: fulfilling our promises to the men and women who served. DAV does this by ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them; assisting them with employment; fighting for the interests of Americaís injured heroes on Capitol Hill; and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life. The 1.3 million member organization was founded in 1920 and chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1932. Learn more at www.dav.org.

The HALO Trust's mission is to lead the effort to protect lives and restore livelihoods threatened by landmines and the debris of war. We remove landmines, cluster bombs, IEDs, and unexploded ordnance from war-torn countries so that some of the world's most vulnerable people can plant their crops, rebuild their homes, and raise their families in safety. Founded in 1988, HALO is the world's oldest and largest humanitarian landmine clearance organization at the forefront of development, as mineclearance not only saves lives but is a prerequisite to any post-conflict reconstruction. With the support of generous donors, HALO has destroyed over 1.5 million landmines and cleared over 12,500 minefields.
