A 20-year-old West Point cadet who had been missing for days was found dead late Tuesday night, according to U.S. Military Academy officials.
Staff Sgt. Nicholas M. Scalzo, 28, an artilleryman from Selma, Ore., was found unresponsive in his barracks in South Korea.
West Point Cadet Kade Kurita was scheduled Friday to participate in a military skills competition. But the 20-year-old cadet from Gardena, Calif., never showed up, according to U.S. Military Academy officials.
